Network of Lithuanian professional diaspora Global Lithuanian Leaders continues the tradition to precede the Global Lithuanian Awards with the Forum of global professionals and bring together the Laureates and Nominees of all seasons, global and local over-achievers, decision-makers from the Governmental institutions for the discussion of means and measures for the improvement of global standing of Lithuania in respect to Global Talent Competitiveness Index.

NETWORKING EVENT: FILM INDUSTRY FOCUS

An Film Industry Networking Event at a historical Santa Monica Landmark Chez Jay on November 3rd organized by LABA.LA & LWAC during AFM (American Film Market) bringing together Lithuanian & American film makers, producers and Film/TV Industry professionals. Hollywood legend RUTA LEE gave a heartfelt and inspiring speech in support and encouragement to Lithuanian filmmakers whose projects help teach the world about Lithuania and its incredible culture. Thank you Ruta!!
This is a third annual event organized and sponsored by the Lithuanian diaspora and this year's partners also included Lithuanian Film Centre in Vilnius and Consulate General of Lithuania in Los Angeles.

LITHUANIAN DAYS IN LOS ANGELES
September 30-October 1st, 2017
To increase an awareness of Lithuanian Days in Los Angeles organized by Lithuanian diaspora since 1986, LABA.LA invited the most popular Lithuanian National TV Morning Show “LABAS RYTAS LIETUVA” (Good Morning Lithuania) host Ignas Krupavicius to broadcast live news from the event.
LABA.LA thanks Lithuanian local business companies “Fashion Strada”, “Adroiti”, “Cujo” and “Ironwood” for making this happen!
MEETING: LITHUANIAN MINISTER OF ECONOMY AND DELEGATION
June 18th, 2017
On June 18th in partnership with Laimutis Abeciūnas, Lithuanian Commercial Attaché in the United States, and host Darius Gaidys, Lithuanian General Consul in Los Angeles, LABA.LA held an informal meeting with Mindaugas Sinkevičius, Lithuanian Minister of Economy, and advisors, representatives of Enterprise Lithuania and Invest Lithuania, and experts in life sciences field.
Minister introduced new Lithuanian legal, tax and visa initiatives to attract US investment into Lithuania while LABA.LA discussed the importance of contact building in the US business circles. LABA.LA presented its vision and focus in life sciences, hi-tech and movie industries, shared insights relating to professional reach outs, and valued Minister’s personal attention to innovation and raising awareness of Lithuania’s competitive advantages.
JOINED INITIATIVE: CITADELĖ KAUNAS MARATHON

LA Lithuanian running enthusiasts and guests from Lithuania gathered in Manhattan Beach for a satellite run of the 5th Citadele Kaunas Marathon. Sixteen adults and eight kids successfully completed the distances of 2,5,10 and 20 kilometers.
Kaunas Citadele Marathon in Los Angeles was hosted by Lithuanian American Business Association in Los Angeles (LABA.LA). Thank you all for joining and bringing great energy and smiles! Big thank you to our sponsors Enjoyer Ice-cream for the delicious treats, and to the marathon ambassadors Gediminas Ramanauskas and Monika Kiznis for making it happen.
FILM INDUSTRY FOCUS: EMILIA film screening at The Downtown Independent

EMILIA - (original EMILIJA iš Laisvės Alėjos) story highlighting the themes of freedom, love and the opportunity to make choices are universal and speak to a broad audience. The film made a great impact on Lithuanian and American viewers alike. We expect EMILIA's story to continue to be shared with audiences outside of Lithuania and that Lithuanian cinema will continue to gain popularity around the globe. Thank you Donatas Ulvydas, Zivile Gallego and Ausra Rosegard!
The event is organized in partnership with LWAC (Lithuanian World Art Council). This is a non-profit event dedicated to promoting Lithuanian movies abroad. Event pictures: check them out!

Young Professionals Programme (YPP) “Create Lithuania” is the first and still the only programme for professional development and the applicability of best international practices to Lithuania. It enables young professionals to contribute towards shaping the future of modern Lithuania with their knowledge and ideas.
Agila Barzdiene presented the program and shared with us success stories. She also informed us about other initiatives for those that are interested in job opportunities in Lithuania (Talentai Lietuvai, Work in Lithuania, Renkuosi Lietuvą).
